Landscape Brief
The aim of the landscape project was to replace the overgrown and tired gardens with a low maintenance, clean and formal design. The removal of the overgrown shrubbery to the front vastly increase the light into the front of the house and views from within. The design uses 3 large brick planters to deal with the changes in level. A simplistic planting scheme of buxus hedging and cones create a low maintenance and formal solution.
The project uses a mixture of brown granite and brick which compliment each other and the house extremely well. The use of brown granite throughout the steps, paving and setts will provide the gardens with a hard wearing and long lasting outcome. Spike lights have been used to highlight the feature planting, with 2 lights per cone. The lighting scheme helps to transform the space at evening and creates a subtle guide through the driveway and garden space.
Project Elements
The complex project was taken from design through to completion by Brackley involving the following:
- Excavation work and removal works
- Laying of brown granite paving, steps and setts
- Installing new raised brick walls
- Extensive lighting design
- Drainage of all soft and hard landscaped areas
- Making good of lawns disturbed during works
